The Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction Cross-Regional Symposium

  • VIRTUAL

On the 15th and 16th of September 2021, The Partnership for Environment and Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR)  organised its first cross-regional symposium. Spread over two days, the free virtual event allowed around 260 participants on Day 1 and 176 on Day 2 to deepen their understanding of Eco-DRR in a multitude of cultural and research contexts.

Thanks to a simultaneous Spanish translation, attendees tuned in from all PEDRR regional hubs, namely Europe/North America, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean and West Asia/MENA. The symposium also enabled greater connections between members of the PEDRR network with an interactive Miro board, on which participants introduced themselves, proposed new ideas and voted for their favourite posters.

Those votes supported the PEDRR team in their choice of the PEDRR award winners transcribed below.

1. Education: Almira Geles L. De Mesa et al.
Examining Instruction methodologies for Eco-DRR in Human Ecology Education Programme in the Philippines

2. Field studies/work: Ma. Charisma T. Malenab et al.
