La red regional PEDRR en América Latina y el Caribe se formó en 2019 e incluye universidades, ONGs, organismos gubernamentales y organizaciones internacionales. Los objetivos principales de la red son: promover la creación de redes e intercambios de experiencias entre instituciones académicas, ONGs, agencias de la ONU y otras organizaciones que imparten cursos sobre soluciones basadas en la naturaleza y enfoques basados en ecosistemas para la reducción del riesgo de desastres, para llevar a cabo investigaciones, gestionar proyectos o promover políticas sobre el tema.
