The Partnership for Disaster Risk Reduction (PEDRR) Europe/North America Network was established in July 2020 with the aim to promote collaborative research, teaching, and exchange of expertise between institutions working on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for DRR and CCA. The network defines itself as a regional knowledge hub to enhance the scientific visibility of the topic and at the same time strengthen the interfaces with policy, society and practice within the Europe/North America region. In this manner it also aims to promote NbS in the policy sphere of the region. Specific objectives include the strengthening of transdisciplinary research, the promotion of students and young professionals in the topic, the design and exchange of teaching and learning materials, data and information, and the joint organization of events.  In this way, new knowledge on Eco-DRR/EbA/NbS is co-developed and disseminated.  Furthermore, a broad range of interest groups such as municipalities and other political actors, decision-makers, the private sector, young people and citizens are sensitized, capacitated and enabled to contribute to the uptake of NbS for DRR and CCA.
