The UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) has launched the Sendai Framework Monitor, an online tool that collects data on disaster losses which will help countries develop DRR strategies. The Sendai Framework Monitor will report for the first time in July 2018 the progress made in implementing the Sendai Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in countries. On 26 February, the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability co-organized the 2018 International Symposium on Resilience of Socio-Ecological Production Landscape – Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) in Taiwan, which attracted Eco-DRR experts from around the world.
