UN Environment, Technical University of Cologne (TH Köln) and the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), will be relaunching the Massive Open Online Course entitled “Disasters and ecosystems: Resilience in a changing climate” on 18 September 2017, 3PM UTC +1. The course has no fees and is open to all those interested in ecosystem-based solutions for reducing disaster and climate risks. Artificial reefs against coastal erosion in India

The use of artificial reefs has been successful in increasing biodiversity and making the Vanaar island ecosystems resilient to climate change in the Gulf of Mannar, India. This attempt to recreate natural ecosystems has been so successful in limiting coastal erosion and boosting fish stocks that a National Fund will be set up to launch similar initiatives.
