Rates and drivers of mangrove deforestation in Southeast Asia, 2000–2012
In spite of their importance in providing ecosystem services which reduce disaster risk and help coastal communities adapt to climate change, mangroves in Southeast Asia have experienced significant deforestation. This study seeks to quantify the drivers of deforestation in Myanmar and Indonesia in order to improve implementation of policies that aim to conserve mangroves.
