From new beans to ancient plants, drought-busting crops take root

New project holds promise of climate resilience for communities
The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre is implementing community-based coastal protection projects in Jamaica. Adopting an ecosystem-based adaptation approach, projects include replanting mangroves to reduce vulnerability to climate change impacts. At the same time, they target to create new livelihood opportunities for locals. Learn more here.

Disaster Risk Management Special Short Course
The Gravitazz Institute for Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management is currently offering a special short course designed to equip disaster risk management stakeholders face crisis situations. They are offering 4 modules, which includes a module for climate change and water resource management in drought-prone areas. Policy Briefs for DRR Edition of Youth Publication
The UN Major Group for Children and Youth is now calling for submission of policy briefs or articles for the DRR Edition of the Youth Science-Policy Interface Publication. Topics for submission by young scientists and researchers are flexible. Submit your articles or policy briefs on Eco-DRR here by 09 April 2017.
