Researchers Use Google Street View to Map Ecosystem Services
Using nearly 100,000 images extracted from Google Street View, researchers from the Future Cities Laboratory at the Singapore-ETH Centre have developed a method to map and quantify how trees in the city help regulate ecosystem services. For more information, access the article.
Training
São Paulo Course on Climate Change: Scientific basis, adaptation, vulnerability and mitigation
This short course will take place from 03 to 15 July 2017 at the University de São Paulo (USP), São Paulo, Brazil and is organized by the INterdisciplinary CLimate INvestigation cEnter (INCLINE) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI). About 100 applicants, 50 from Brazil and 50 from other countries will be selected to participate in the training. Deadline for applications is 31 March 2017. UN Environment Finance Initiative Courses: Environmental and Social Risk Analysis | Corporate Eco-efficiency in Financial Institutions 
Offered by UN Environment Finance Initiative and partners, these training courses aim to bring about how to establish and implement environmental and social risk management systems within financial institutions. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has published the report on ‘Evaluating Urban Resilience to Climate Change: A Multi-Sector Approach’, describing a flexible tool that cities could use to identify the risks and priorities for increasing urban resilience and adaptation to climate change.
