Ecosystem-based Disaster Solutions for Reducing Climate Risk in Urbanizing Tropical Watersheds: Effectiveness of Policy-relevant Alternatives for the New Capital of Indonesia

Abstract

As urbanisation and climate change increase flood and drought risks, ecosystem-based approaches can help build more resilient cities. This study uses hydrological modelling to assess how different Eco-DRR measures could reduce flood and drought hazards in the Sanggai Watershed, where Indonesia’s new capital city is being developed.
