A framework towards assessing climate change and disaster-related losses of biodiversity and ecosystem services (FRAME-ECO)

Abstract

Developed by PEDRR members UNDRR, UNEP and UNU-EHS, the new FRAME-ECO framework provides the first standardized approach to measuring how disasters and climate change impact biodiversity and ecosystem services. By helping countries account for the true value of nature, from flood regulation to carbon storage, it supports stronger Eco-DRR planning, more resilient recovery, and improved access to climate and Loss & Damage finance.
