This study assesses how natural flood management (NFM) interventions can reduce flood risks at the catchment scale in northern England. Using advanced hydrological and hydrodynamic modelling, it evaluates the combined impact of Nature-based Solutions such as leaky dams and woodland restoration on flood peaks and inundation depths. The results show that NFM interventions can delay and lower flood peaks while reducing inundation in urban areas, demonstrating their value as nature-based solutions for disaster risk reduction.
