US Airport Expansion Decreases Resilience
The Environmental Protection Agency of the United States maintains that the Teterboro Airport’s expansion project in the state of New Jersey could be detrimental to the environment, leaving the surrounding areas susceptible to severe flooding. Residents and environmentalists claim that this project would eliminate wetlands which act as a natural sponge for rainwater. Fiji is adopting a new policy which focuses on an integrated and inclusive approach to disaster risk reduction.
