Biodiversity and Resilience of Ecosystem Functions

By identifying ecosystem functions and mechanisms at the species, community, and landscape level, a study shows that biodiversity may be critical for the longer-term resilience of ecosystem functions and related services. This observation is significant as accelerated climate change threatens these mechanisms, which have implications for disrupting ecosystem services that help reduce risk and adapt to climate change.
