PEDRR Shoutout - Wrapping up the MOOC on Disasters and Ecosystems
Congratulations to CNRD, UNEP, and Iversity for the successful completion of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Disasters and Ecosystems, which concluded on 31 May. We would like to extend our thanks to ALL those who enrolled in the MOOC and shared their knowledge, experiences, and insights, which made for a rich exchange. Congratulations also to the 50 winners who garnered the top prize for their final assignments, and who should be receiving a copy of the book The Role of Ecosystems in Disaster Risk Reduction! STAY TUNED for the next MOOC, which will be announced through this newsletter. Here are our statistics:
- Over 12,000 enrolled from 183 countries
- After 5 weeks and end of the Leadership Track, we had 37% completion rate
- 50% professionals took the course
- 4,500 people on the MOOC Facebook - created and generated by MOOC students!
