Ioana’s areas of expertise include disaster risk reduction, including preparedness for response; climate risk management; governance and mainstreaming of disaster risk reduction into development planning. Ioana has carried out a national capacity assessments and contributed to the development of National Plans of Action for DRR in several countries, most notably in Africa and Europe and the CIS; and has designed and facilitated a number of national and regional training workshops worldwide. Ioana holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Geneva and is currently enrolled in the Doctoral Programme of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva.
